Purchase of own securities

Imperial Tobacco has today, 28 August 2013, purchased 75,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2132.39 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2143 pence per share and the lowest 2106 pence per share.

The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 98,363,532 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 969,579,349.
