TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 24 November 2011 it purchased from Citigroup Global Markets U.K. Equity Limited 125,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 810.6621 pence per share. The highest price paid was 822.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 791.5 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 3,792,168 ordinary shares in treasury and has 531,448,170 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
