Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 6 November 2008 it purchased for cancellation 1,000,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 268.2326 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2008, Man has repurchased 29,546,992 ordinary shares at a total cost of £145.79 million, giving an average repurchase cost of 493.41 pence per ordinary share.
