HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 12 January 2012 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 47,956 of its ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 293.9386 pence per share. The highest price paid was 298.80 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 285.10 pence per share.

Following the above purchase, the Company has now bought back 11,490,413 shares for cancellation and 5,449,620 for transfer into treasury, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
