AMEC PLC21 March 2007 AMEC plc Transaction in Own Shares AMEC plc announces that on 20 March 2007, it purchased 500,000 of its ordinaryshares of 50p each at 516 pence per share through Dresdner Kleinwort. All ofthese shares will be held as Treasury shares. This purchase equates toapproximately 0.15 per cent of AMEC's current issued share capital excludingTreasury shares prior to this purchase. AMEC's total issued share capital is 336,731,841 shares.
