Portmeirion Group PLC01 April 2005 Portmeirion Group Plc (the 'Company') Acquisition of own shares The Company announces that, pursuant to its general authority granted byshareholders of the Company on 17th May 2004 to make market purchases of itsordinary shares of 5p each ("Ordinary Shares"), the Company yesterday made onmarket purchases of 15,000 Ordinary Shares at 163p per share (all of which areto be held as treasury shares). The Company now holds 350,000 Ordinary Shares in treasury and the total numberof Ordinary Shares in issue less the total number of Ordinary Shares held intreasury following the purchase and non-cancellation of such Ordinary Shares is10,071,230 Ordinary Shares. This notification is pursuant to the amendment ofthe Companies Act 1985 to allow companies to buy-back and hold certain types oftheir own shares 'in treasury'.
