Unilever PLC17 October 2005 Unilever NV and Unilever PLC 17 October 2005 Unilever NV and Unilever PLC - Transactions in Own Shares Unilever NV announces that on 14 October 2005, it purchased 35,120 Unilever NVordinary shares (in the form of depositary receipts thereof) at prices between€58.55 and €58.95 per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasuryshares. Unilever NV also announces that 2,125 Unilever NV ordinary shares held astreasury shares were released under Employee Share Plans. Following the above purchase and release, Unilever NV together with subsidiarycompanies, holds 20,502,445 Unilever NV ordinary shares in treasury, and has551,073,455 Unilever NV ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Unilever PLC announces that on 14 October 2005, it purchased 311,354 UnileverPLC ordinary shares at prices between 581.50 pence and 585.00 pence per share.The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares.
