Standard Chartered PLC ("SC") announces that today it purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of US$0.50 each from Goldman Sachs International, pursuant to the share buy-back programme previously detailed in the announcement of 31 July 2023.

Following the purchase of these shares, the Programme that commenced on 1 August 2023 (announced on 31 July 2023), has completed. Since the commencement of the Programme, the Company has repurchased for cancellation 112,982,802 ordinary shares at a volume weighted average price of £7.1673 per ordinary share for an aggregate consideration of approximately US$1 billion.

SC intends to cancel the purchased shares.

Following the cancellation of the purchased shares, SC will have 2,665,056,561 ordinary shares in issue. Therefore, the total number of voting rights in SC will be 666,264,140.

In accordance with Article 5(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 (as incorporated into UK domestic law by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018), a full breakdown of the individual trades is attached to this announcement.
