Transaction in own shares

John Menzies PLC announces that, on 21 December 2010, it purchased through Numis Securities Limited 20,000 ordinary shares of 25p each at a price of 460 pence per share. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 707,406 ordinary shares in Treasury and has a total of 59,631,641 ordinary shares of 25p each (excluding shares held in Treasury) in issue. The number of ordinary shares purchased represented approximately 0.03% of the voting rights attributable to the total ordinary shares in issue prior to such purchases.
