Transaction in Own Shares

Pursuant to the authority given to the Company by shareholders at its Annual General Meeting on 26 July 2012, UBC announces that on 23 July 2013 it purchased 1,345,306 ordinary shares of 1 penny each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"), at a price of 2 pence per Ordinary Share. The purchased Ordinary Shares will be held in treasury.

Following this transaction, the Company's total issued share capital remains unchanged with 206,619,545 Ordinary Shares in issue. There are now 9,041,310 shares held in treasury. The total number of shares with voting rights in UBC is therefore 197,578,235.

The above figure of 197,578,235 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, UBC under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
