JKX Oil & Gas PLC11 October 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 11 OCTOBER 2005 JKX OIL & GAS plc TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES Pursuant to Resolution 7, passed at the AGM held on 12 May 2005, JKX Oil & Gasplc ("JKX" or the "Company") was authorised to buyback up to 14,257,266 ordinaryshares. The Board of Directors announces that on 10 October 2005 the Companypurchased 300,000 shares at 204.5p per share. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares. Following the abovepurchase, JKX now holds in total 550,000 treasury shares. The issued share capital of the Company (excluding shares held as treasuryshares) now stands at 151,342,600.
