TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 7 November 2011 it purchased from Citigroup Global Markets U.K. Equity Limited 110,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 936.1356 pence per share. The highest price paid was 953.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 917.5 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 2,309,168 ordinary shares in treasury and has 532,931,170 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
