Spectris PLC12 July 2007 Spectris plc (the "Company") Close Period Share Repurchases Pursuant to Listing Rule 12.2.1(2), Spectris plc has entered into an arrangementto enable the repurchase of its own shares into treasury during its closeperiod, which will end with the publication of its interim results on 24 August2007. Any acquisitions will be effected within certain pre-set parameters, andin accordance with both the Company's general authority to repurchase shares andthe Listing Rules.
