Transfer of shares into Treasury

The Company announces that on 20 December 2011 it purchased, through Investec, 25,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company at a price of 113.0 pence per share. The highest and lowest price paid was 113.0 pence per share. The Company will hold the shares in Treasury to meet options under the McBride plc Savings Related Share Option Scheme to be exercised in 2012.

Following the above transaction the Company now holds 1,905,712 shares in Treasury and has a total of 179,134,589 ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) in issue.
