21 November, 2007 Daily Mail and General Trust plc (`DMGT') Transaction in Own Shares

DMGT announces that it has today acquired 1,250,000 'A' Ordinary Non Voting shares at a price of ‚£5.28099 per share. The shares acquired will be held in Treasury.

Following the purchase, the total number of 'A' Ordinary Non Voting Shares held in treasury is 7,603,906 and the total number of 'A' Ordinary Non Voting Shares in issue after deducting shares held in treasury is 367,819,888.
