Transaction in own shares
Friends Life announces that on 31 October 2014 it purchased for cancellation the following number of its ordinary shares of nil par value through Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited.
Such purchase was effected pursuant to irrevocable instructions issued by the Company and announced on 6 August 2014.

The Company does not hold any ordinary shares in treasury.

This announcement is made in accordance with the requirements of Listing Rule 12.4.6.
