Burberry Group PLC18 August 2005 BURBERRY GROUP PLC: Transaction in Own Shares Burberry Group plc ("the Company") announces that it has today purchased 286,088of its ordinary shares of 0.05p each ("Shares") for cancellation. Of theseShares, 100,000 were purchased on-market from Morgan Stanley at a price of425.4900 pence per Share and 186,088 were purchased off-market directly from GUSHoldings Limited also at a price of 425.4900 pence per share in accordance withthe Agreement dated 14 July 2005 between the Company and GUS plc approved by theCompany's shareholders on 14 July 2005.
