Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 5 September 2008 it purchased for cancellation 2,000,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 496.94 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2008, Man has repurchased 21,046,992 ordinary shares at a total cost of £114.49 million, giving an average repurchase cost of 543.98 pence per ordinary share.
