Purchase of own securities

Imperial Tobacco has today, 13 May 2014, purchased 180,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2645.42 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2658 pence per ordinary share and the lowest 2634.95 pence per ordinary share.

The purchased shares will all be held in treasury.

Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 77,707,582 ordinary shares in treasury.

The total number of ordinary shares in issue, excluding ordinary shares held in treasury, is 958,292,418.
