JOHN MENZIES PLC (`THE COMPANY')

TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

John Menzies PLC announces that, on 8 March 2013, it purchased through NumisSecurities Limited 135,111 ordinary shares of 25p each at an average price of766 pence per share. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 643,304 ordinary shares inTreasury and has a total of 60,353,199 ordinary shares of 25p each (excludingshares held in Treasury) in issue. The number of ordinary shares purchasedrepresented approximately 1.07% of the voting rights attributable to the totalordinary shares in issue prior to such purchases.
