Transaction in own shares

Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 27 June 2008 it purchased 857,737 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 233.50 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 227.50 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 960,119 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 230.90 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
