TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc announces that it has today transferred 6,446 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans. The transfer price was 404.81 pence.

Following the transfer of these shares, Close Brothers Group plc holds 4,646,869 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 144,826,297 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
