AstraZeneca PLC02 October 2007 REPURCHASE OF SHARES IN ASTRAZENECA PLC Further to the announcement of its irrevocable, non-discretionary sharerepurchase programme for the period 2 July 2007 to 31 October 2007, AstraZenecaPLC announced that under the terms of that programme it purchased forcancellation 232,584 ordinary shares of AstraZeneca PLC at a price of 2471 penceper share on 1 October 2007. Upon the cancellation of these shares, the numberof shares in issue will be 1,473,875,000.
