Meggitt announces that today it has purchased for cancellation from Merrill Lynch International the following numbers of its ordinary shares of five pence each:

Following settlement of the above purchase, the total number of ordinary shares in issue will be 807,735,389. Meggitt does not hold any shares in treasury.
