Transaction in own shares

On 14 June 2011, the Company purchased 900,000 of its own ordinary shares of no par value at prices between 310.8 pence per share and 315.3 pence per share, all of which ordinary shares are to be cancelled. This represents approximately 0.061 per cent of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.

Following the repurchase and cancellation, 1,463,053,684 ordinary shares of no par value will be in issue. There are no ordinary shares held in treasury.
