Buyback of Own Shares
London, 26 September 2014: Ophir Energy plc (the "Company") announces that it has purchased the following number of ordinary shares of 0.25 pence each:

The purchased shares will be all held as treasury shares. Following the purchase of these shares, the Company holds 2,715,000 of its own shares in treasury which have yet to settle.
The Company has 590,575,786 shares in issue (excluding the shares held in treasury). This number represents the total voting rights in the Company and may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Ophir under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
