Diageo PLC26 September 2006 Diageo plc - Transaction in Own Shares Diageo plc ('the Company') announces that it has today purchased through CreditSuisse Securities (Europe) Limited 850,000 ordinary shares at a price of 951.81pence per share. The purchased shares will be held in treasury for the purposeof satisfying options granted under the Company's employee share plans. Following the above purchase, the Company holds 277,549,555 ordinary shares astreasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding sharesheld as treasury shares) is 2,766,989,542.
