Character Group PLC29 April 2008 29 April 2008 The Character Group plc (the 'Group' or 'Company') Transaction in Own Shares As part of the Group's stated objective to enhance shareholder value, theCompany advises that it has today purchased in the market through CharlesStanley Securities 6,235 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 109.25pence per share. This represents approximately 0.01% of the issued sharecapital of the Company (excluding shares held in treasury). These shares will beheld in treasury. Following these transactions, the Company has 42,546,718 ordinary shares inissue (excluding 2,945,219 ordinary shares in the Company held in Treasury). The Directors will continue to monitor the position and will, if appropriate,make further purchases of the Company's own shares.
