TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

BG Group plc (the "Company") has today transferred 120,799 Shares from Treasury, for nil consideration. A total of 86,109 Shares were transferred to the Trustee of its Share Incentive Plan and 34,690 Shares were transferred to the Trustee of its Global Partnership Plan.

Following the above transfers, the Company holds 204,570,932 Shares in Treasury and has a total of 3,417,848,087 Shares (excluding Shares held in Treasury) in issue.

This announcement is made pursuant to LR 12.6.4.
