Transaction in own shares

Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 06 June 2008 it purchased 365,000 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 245 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 232.5 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 408,567 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 238.1264 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
