Purchase of own securities

Imperial Tobacco has today, 28 June 2013, purchased 200,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2283.8 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2311 pence per share and the lowest 2267 pence per share.

The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 96,038,532 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 971,904,349.
