Purchase of own securities

Imperial Tobacco has today, 3 April 2014, purchased 125,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2432.97 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2447 pence per ordinary share and the lowest 2421 pence per ordinary share.

The purchased shares will all be held in treasury.

Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 75,256,260 ordinary shares in treasury.

The total number of ordinary shares in issue, excluding ordinary shares held in treasury, is 960,743,740.
