Repurchase of shares in AMEC plc
On 21 February 2012, AMEC plc (the "Company") announced that it intended to complete a £400 million share buyback programme within the next twelve months.
Further to the announcement on 17 August 2012 of its irrevocable, non-discretionary share repurchase programme with Barclays Capital Securities Limited, the Company announces that under the terms of that programme it has today purchased for cancellation 220,000 ordinary shares of the Company at a price of 1091.5071 pence per share. This purchase equates to approximately 0.07 per cent of AMEC's current issued share capital excluding Treasury shares prior to this purchase.
Following this change AMEC's total issued share capital is 318,513,250 ordinary shares, of which 6,350,350 are registered as Treasury Shares, leaving a balance of 312,162,900 shares with voting rights.
Cumulative purchases since 21 February 2012 amount to approximately £233.88 million. It is the Company's intention that the significant majority of the shares purchased under the £400 million share buyback programme will be cancelled.
