Old Mutual PLC10 October 2007 Old Mutual plc Ref 59/0710 October 2007 Transaction in Own Shares Old Mutual plc ("the Company") announces that on 9 October 2007 it purchasedthrough Merrill Lynch International and Merrill Lynch South Africa (Pty) Limiteda total of 2,914,600 of the Company's ordinary shares of 10p each. 2,500,000 of these shares were acquired on the London Stock Exchange at anaverage price of 172.30 pence per share and 414,600 shares were acquired on theJSE Limited at an average price of ZAR 24.04 per share. The purchased shares will be held in treasury. The Company's current issuedshare capital is now 5,496,715,266 ordinary shares of 10p each (excluding the10,987,600 shares that have so far been repurchased into treasury).
