Whitbread PLC29 August 2007 Whitbread PLC Purchase of Own Shares Whitbread PLC announces that on 29 August 2007 it purchased 170,000 of its 76122/153p ordinary shares at a volume weighted average price paid per share of1604.89p. Whitbread PLC purchased these shares via Hoare Govett Limited'saffiliate, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., London Branch. The shares purchased will be held as treasury shares.
