Greggs plc announces that on 14 July 2008 it purchased 5,000 ordinary shares of 20p each in the Company for cancellation at the highest price of £35.76 per share and at the lowest price of £35.50 per share.

Following this cancellation of shares, the Company's total issued share capital will be 10,408,112.
