The Company announces that, on 1 July 2010, it purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 5 pence each. The Company intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury.

Number of ordinary shares purchased: 500,000

Highest price paid per share: 770.00 pence

Lowest price paid per share: 750.50 pence

Volume weighted average price paid per share: 765.64 pence

Following the purchase of these shares, the Company holds 1,253,107 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 133,604,076 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
