Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 29 September 2008 it purchased for cancellation 3,000,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 312.21 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2008, Man has repurchased 28,046,992 ordinary shares at a total cost of £141.64 million, giving an average repurchase cost of 505.03 pence per ordinary share.
