Transaction in Own Shares

On 27 June 2011, the Company made the following purchases of its own equity shares:

·; The number of equity shares purchased was 100,000, comprising ordinary shares of no par value all of which were purchased in order to be held as treasury shares.

·; The highest price paid for a share was 330 pence.

·; The lowest price paid for a share was 321.5 pence.

·; Following the purchase of shares referred to above the Company holds a total of 100,000 ordinary shares of no par value as treasury shares and has 242,571,040 ordinary shares of no par value in issue other than those shares held as treasury shares.
