Transaction in Own Shares

RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES

CRH plc announces that on 4th March 2010 it transferred to the Trustees of an employee share participation scheme 41,662 Ordinary Shares at a price of €16.74 per Ordinary Share.

CRH plc also announces that on 4th March 2010 it transferred to a participant in its employee share scheme 3,580 Ordinary Shares at a price of €15.5646 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 12,278,080 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 698,207,840.
