Transaction in own shares

SOCO announces that on 22 November 2011 it purchased 70,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 290.193 pence per ordinary share. The highest price and the lowest price paid for these shares were 294.5 pence and 287.3 pence respectively. All the purchased shares will be held as Treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, SOCO holds 517,500 ordinary shares as Treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue is 340,021,952 (excluding ordinary shares held as treasury shares).
