15 June 2009 FirstGroup plc FirstGroup plc - Transactions in Own Shares
FirstGroup plc (the "Company") announces that on 15 June 2009 it purchased from J.P. Morgan Cazenove Limited 100,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 378.94 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares.
The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury to satisfy anticipated exercises of participants' share options in the Company's Save as You Earn Scheme.
Following the above purchase, the Company holds 228,790 ordinary shares in treasury, and has 481,838,380 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
