Diageo PLC11 March 2008 TO: Regulatory Information Service Diageo plc - Transaction in Own Shares Diageo plc ('the Company') announces that it has today purchased through GoldmanSachs International 1,035,779 ordinary shares at a price of 1010.24 pence pershare. The purchased shares will be held in treasury for the purpose ofsatisfying options grants and share awards made under the Company's employeeshare plans. Following the above purchase, the Company holds 280,838,334 ordinary shares astreasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding sharesheld as treasury shares) is 2,569,490,507.
