AstraZeneca PLC24 August 2007 REPURCHASE OF SHARES IN ASTRAZENECA PLC Further to the announcement of its irrevocable, non-discretionary sharerepurchase programme for the period 2 July 2007 to 31 October 2007, AstraZenecaPLC announced that under the terms of that programme it purchased forcancellation 236,302 ordinary shares of AstraZeneca PLC at a price of 2424 penceper share on 23 August 2007. Upon the cancellation of these shares, the numberof shares in issue will be 1,483,223,230.
