Transaction in Own Shares

Caledonia Investments plc (the "Company") announces on 24 October 2008 it purchased 5,000 of its own ordinary shares of 5p each at a price of 1478.8p per share. These shares are to be held in treasury.

Following the purchase, Caledonia holds 422,229 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has a total of 58,372,552 ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding treasury shares) in issue.
