Purchase of own securities

Imperial Tobacco has today, 21 January 2014, purchased 75,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2266.01 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2290 pence per ordinary share and the lowest 2229 pence per ordinary share.

The purchased shares will all be held in treasury.

Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 105,637,165 ordinary shares in treasury.

The total number of ordinary shares in issue, excluding ordinary shares held in treasury, is 962,305,716.
