Imperial Tobacco has today, 2 December 2013, purchased 400,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 2318.74 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2329 pence per ordinary share and the lowest 2312 pence per ordinary share.

The purchased shares will all be held in treasury.

Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 101,356,532 ordinary shares in treasury.

The total number of ordinary shares in issue, excluding ordinary shares held in treasury, is 966,586,349.
