Transaction in own shares

Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 27 May 2008 it purchased 300,000 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 253.25 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 249.375 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 335,809 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 251.3643 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
