Purchase of own shares

Compass Group PLC announces that on 12 January 2016 it purchased 20,000 ordinary shares of 10 5/8 pence each at a price of 1145.3501 pence per share through Barclays Capital Securities Limited.

Compass Group PLC intends to hold the purchased ordinary shares in treasury.

Following the above transaction, Compass Group PLC holds 12,216,645 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 1,644,560,737 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
