Transaction in own shares

Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 13 June 2008 it purchased 635,000 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 246.50 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 238.50 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 710,795 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 242.59 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
